Weekly Summary

This week was relatively light for me all around. I did not have too much work to complete this week. I also had the opportunity to listen to a radio show and reflect in a blog which can be seen below as well! I was able to complete my three daily creates which can be seen below.

I had also been tasked with creating a story using my daily creates! I have posted that below, so let me know what you think!

Below you can find my project idea for my final project. I also had a great time attempting to recreate or revamp 2 assignments. It was interesting to reread them and then try to figure how to remix them, but I attempted it! You can find them below as well!

Dear Carrie Take 2!

For my second rework assignment, I had decided to take one of the writing assignments that I had completed in the beginning of the semester. I believe for this assignment I had to wrote a letter to myself in the future. So, I figured that now that I know how to add music and background sounds to my assignments using Audacity, that I would give that a go. I mean I feel that it would mean more with an actual voice behind and some nice hopeful music in the background. So, let me know what you think!

Mommy Dearest Take 2!

I have decided to revise my “Mommy Dearest” post. I decided to take the letter I had written to my mom and paste onto a background that I had found soothing/easy/appealing to the eyes. I felt that at first the original post was a little boring or dull without a little background. However, now that I have found the perfect background for this letter, I feel that it gives this letter a little more color and attracts viewers.

Crazy Right? (Daily Create Story)

So, come on. Have you never thought about something crazy? I mean really crazy. Yeah, something a little more serious than dressing up like a Christmas elf. I mean, something big, like swimming in the ocean with sharks and other marine life. Crazy, right? No, fearless. Swimming fearlessly without a care in the world — living your best life. I hear people say that all the time, “I’m living my best life.” It’s crazy when you think about it. I laugh out loud as I write about it; as I look forward to fearlessly to living my best life. Crazy, right?

Project Idea

Happiness can be the result of success experienced from overcoming a single challenge or a collection of challenges, either great or small. Like the landscape artistry of Bob Ross, each painting is a process, a journey. The journey begins with the first stroke on the canvas and continues as anticipation builds eventually culminating with the satisfaction of the last stroke on the canvas. Happiness is achieved as the result of having had the experience and achieved the desired result. That is the story I would share with the world – The beauty in having made the journey and overcome the challenges faced ultimately achieving happiness. Living well does not necessarily equate to easy living, rather it may be the success experienced and the happiness felt at having handled challenges, both great and small.

Reflection on Radio Show

I was able to join the DS106 Radio on Wednesday night! The show I had listened to was “The Roy Rogers Show – “The Missing Painter”. ” Overall the show was interesting. Really and truly, the only critiques I have are that the show could have used some transitions from the main show to commercials and I feel like the group could have possible used more sound effects/music, possibly. Overall, the show was interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat! It was pretty awesome to listen to others groups’ radio shows! I was not able to join the DS106 radio on Monday when my group’s show but from the comments that I have seen, it seemed to have gone quite well and some even enjoyed it and were intrigued overall!

From there, we had sent them to Elizabeth who put all of our bumpers, commercials, transitions and recordings together to get our amazing show on the road.

Where does the Time Go??

This week has been pretty hectic/busy for me. I was able to join a group and discuss ideas for a radio show topic called “The Tea on Social Media.” My group and I shared a Google Doc amongst each other and we created a group chat. There has been a lot of great ideas discussed through this group chat. While doing that I able to create a Radio Show Bumper, Poster, and Commercial for this Radio Show. These posts can be seen below.

While completing those assignments/group work, I was also able to complete my three daily creates for this week, which can be seen below.

Tea on Social Media Commercial

I attempted the Product Commercial assignment. For this assignment, I decided to do a commercial on an event called sip and create. If you take a listen I even attempted to include our ds106 theme in with my project group’s topic. I had a pretty fun time creating this commercial, so please let me know what you all think!
